Today I went to the shops and grabbed a Cleo magazine. I know, I know, gulity pleasure!! I shouldn't be reading that stuff, and I can really do without looking at pages of fashion that I can't afford!! I like clothes, and while I suck at fashion, my clothes reflect my different moods and different aspects of my personality - of which there are about a thousand!!
I really should have been an actress.
The real reason I brought it was because Blake Lively was on the front. I love Blake Lively. I try not to worship stars, but really. She looks georgeous no matter what she's wearing. She could wear a garbage bag and still look the best in the room. And she's my age, and the more I learn about her, the more I find her personality is like me.
Anyway, I was reading an article about how to be like Beyonce (don't judge!) and the last point was to celebrate your life. It went on to explain that she has a tumblr and instagram dedicated to everything that is awsome in her life. Not to brag, but in a I'm-so-glad-to-be-alive-life-is-awsome kind of way.
It struck me that this is the way I try to use my instagram, and how i hope to use this website/blog. Maybe I'll extend it to my Facebook page too. I want my instagram to be a photo journal of whatever happens to be awsome every day - whether it be small like a new magazine, a chocolate chip cookie or a clean room, or huge, like a finished manuscript or a friend's engagement. Hopefully one day my children can look at them - actually, I might print my instagram photos for that purpose - and can learn about my life and see what happened (you know that grandmother's journal you have that you like to read because it tells you what her life was like? Like that). I am also always happy to do anything that reminds me to be content. I am a happy person by nature, but I always have to remind myself to be content, and I do that by finding joy in the little things.
I would like to extend this challenge to you guys. Find something awsome in your life every day. And document it online to inspire others to do the same. I'll tag my posts with #awesomelifechallenge and will be watching what everyone posts with that tag!
